Congrats Steve Sullivan

This year’s winner of the Masterton award went to our own Steve Sullivan. He has such a champion these past two years, overcoming his back injury and getting back on the ice at the end of the season to help bring the team to the playoffs.

Well deserved, Sully!

Pittsburgh Takes the Cup

Wow – what an emotional game last night. I was devastated when Sidney Crosby got hurt and was taken off the ice. Thank God he was OK enough to come back at the end of the third period and skate for the win.

This was a fantastic Stanley Cup series, even if you are not from Detroit or Pittsburgh. The two teams were immensely skilled yet vastly different playing and coaching styles. I’m glad that it took all 7 games to find a winner. We sure got our money’s worth of the best hockey played this year, even if you had to watch from the TV in your living room like I did.

Congrats to the Penguins for the perseverance and excellent goal tending to bring home the Stanly Cup this year!

Close Chase for the Cup

Last night we watched the Red Wings destroy the Penguins with an embarrassing 5 to nothing win. They scored 3 goals in less than 10 minutes and most of the goals were on power plays. I can promise you the Penguins coach had a lot of asses to chew last night after that travesty.

The playoof series is a good one and the Wings are only up by one game. It will be interesting to see if the Penguins can come back strong after that ass beating and pull a couple more wins, or will they just roll over and let the Red Wings take it?

Trucking

New DVD came out of the Mickey Rourke movie, The Wrestler. I saw it at Target and didn’t have much cash on me, so I passed it up. But I really want to watch that movie. I get paid on the 15th, so I’ll go back and buy that movie and maybe a couple more.

There’s nothing on TV to watch over the summer but reruns and lame stuff. In fact, the only decent show that’s on right now is the third season of the Ice Road Truckers. They had the season premiere on Sunday night and I am hooked. Other than that show I don’t even bother turning on the TV anymore.

Sobe It

I drink Sobe non carbonated drinks. They come in glass bottles and cost anywhere between $1 (on sale) to $2.69 for a 20 fl oz bottle. The flavors are easy to handle, like citrus or strawberries. When you open a bottle, take a look inside the cap. They always print a weird combination of words, like a new age fortune cookie. The one I’m drinking now says, “back-teeterer’s” and I have to admit that I don’t get it. But it’s OK.
